Theatre by Rik Mayall

Rik Myall - Poetry, not poet.
Decided on a different approach today just to mix things up and keep it interesting.
Wednesday is hump day and a bit of comic relief is needed. Not the charity event that Rik Mayall is pivotal too, instead the multi-talented comic provides laughs through verse.
Solo in the early 80’s with out his usual cohort in absurdist comedy Adrian Edmonson. Toying with form and prose, Rik is obviously having a joyous time extolling his mock bitterness towards “Theatre” and British icon of the stage and screen Vanessa Redgrave.
Dominating with the Young Ones when I was at school, I remember fastidiously ensuring I was near a TV set on a Thursday night to view each new episode on ABC. Since then Mayall’s stand up has continued to keep its edge. His television work on New Statesman and Bottom has been a little uneven but the few episodes I’ve caught of each have entertained.
Post Hope by Dexter
Jibber jabber enough, scare you from my luf,Video to rapture, perhaps capture,
You the viewer to glee and delight,
Please tell me it’s alright?
