To be silent is apathy!
To dictate, tyrannical humanity blinds individuality,
Demolished morality, social ignorance,
Selfish pleasure trumps desires to aide and create.
Purging has returned, it is hidden
The guise of democracy a political ideal, not practised.
History has shown us time, again and again,
Sanctioned murder, genocide, we do not learn.
Look around it is happening now,
An Old adage, now new bondage,
As we descend, conflicting religion,
Ignoring common sense, undeclared combat exploits personal liberty.
Where do we go? I struggle to keep hope,
To sustain evidence of positive life, when will it begin?

I don't know when it starts to get better for the rest of the world, but for us here n Oz, having a new government has sure brightened the hearts of many...
I used to love Leonard C, even had an album or two of his, before they were all stolen and sold for drugs by a "freind..." *chuckle* so I really enjoyed watching him perform this song.
It is a little dystopic, but perhaps quite prophetic?

Im in Oz too, though I'm not as optimistic about Rudd as everyone else seems to be...he is after all only a politician.
Though a lot of surface change may occur I don't think their will be much difference in the way society cares for each other. Sadly the corporate corruption that funds campaigns and power dictates the laws and mandates of government anyway.
Sorry that was all a bit negative too, apologies. On a bright note i find Leonard C one of the great observers of the last 30 years. There is wisdom in his verse that needs to be heeded if we want to make a better world...thats why i also posted Rudyard Kipling If the other day as a little ray of sunshine!
