Loneliness haunts a discomforted happiness,
A disconnected society, ignores those around,
Internal pain ravages, voices inside the mind scream,
The lips never form words, only sorrowful silence.
The wisdom of free thought,
Attacked by yearning for companionship,
The external acknowledgment of existence slips.
Prisoners of our own microcosm,
Unwilling to address those nameless faces,
Trust and empathy is replaced with self obsessed involvement.
We suffer alone, in the dark, in silence…
