HEADLINE POETRY 2
July 11th 2007 04:37
To recap, the idea of Headline Poetry is to take the letters which make up an existing Newspaper Headline in order and use them as the first letters of new words to create a poem which is relevant to the original story and headline. The following Headline comes from the Sydney Morning Herald on July 11-2007. It leads a story about the Australian Prime Minister's view of things in Iraq.
"NO DOUBT US WILL STAY COURSE IN IRAQ, SAYS PM"
Necessity
Ordains.
Depleted

Underground
Brings
Troops.
Unhappy
Sands.
Whatabout
llluminating
Life's
Losers
Screams

Indulge
Non-partisanship.
Identifiable

Queerly,

Asymmetrical
Yearnings
Surely
Promising
Mayhem.
